Christchurch Earthquake – Status update

The 2degrees network is running, but with some congestion. Please make essential calls only.

Our thoughts are with the people of Christchurch this afternoon. Our network is operating, although we have several cell sites off the air at present. We have battery back up in place so calls and texts are getting through, but increased demand means congestion is likely.

Our staff, who thankfully have not been hurt, are working as fast as possible to get services restored.

Please avoid calling, texting and data use if it’s not essential.
