Launch of 2degrees $10 Text Pack means 500 texts at 2 cents each to any network

2degrees, New Zealand’s newest mobile network company, today launched its first text bundle with 2degrees $10 Text, offering 500 texts to any New Zealand network.
At a cost of 2cents a text to any network, the offer reflects 2degrees’ continued commitment to keeping Kiwis connected, no matter what their phone prefix.
“Mobile text users have largely been held hostage, paying high prices to text friends and family on other networks,” says Larrie Moore, 2degrees Chief Marketing Officer. “With 2degrees $10 Text, our customers get a great rate to text anyone anytime so they can stay better connected, regardless of the network they text.”
Rising portability increases need for any-net deal
“As more and more people switch networks and take their number with them, mobile users can no longer be sure whether they are texting ‘on net or off net’. An ‘any network’ deal gives customers certainty around how much they are spending when they use their mobile.” says Larrie.
Buy one, get one free
As an additional promotion to mark the launch of the new $10 Text Pack, 2degrees is offering a buy-one-get-one free incentive until 30 June. Customers can access this offer once, to receive a $10 credit to spend on another $10 Text Pack that will kick in the following month.
“With a total of 1,000 texts to send, I expect there to be some sore thumbs across our customer base in the coming months,” says Larrie.
The 2degrees $10 Text Pack is valid for 30 days, and auto-renews each month. The Packs are available today for purchase by texting ‘buy 10txt’ to 233.
On launch in August last year, 2degrees halved the price of standard prepay mobile calls and text, attracting more than 200,000 Kiwi customers. 2degrees $10 Text has been created in response to clear feedback from would-be customers who need the financial certainty of an ‘any-net’ text bundle.

honestly.. u guys are picking up on the right things at the right time.
This + new data plan is literally what i’ve been looking for.
I need just about 500 txts a month and 50mb.
im happier spending $6 for 50mb of data rather than VF’s 100mb for $10 mainly cos i hardly get passed 50mb unless i force myself too !
bought 2 deg at launch, sim card went into my draw. guess its vf’s turn in the drawer now

Is it possible to expect a 2degrees to 2degrees texting plan. Cause thats pretty much all you’se guys have left to do. Can you give us a hint on when your going to make something like that If you are planning to.
Hey will you guys ever cut out this plan on your service? like if i change to 2deg will this plan still be available for a year or more? and if you guys do remove this plan if i still have this plan selected on my phone will i still be able to use the 10$ 500txt as long as i want?
Hi Jebel, we’ve doubled up $10 Text until the 31 December 2010. So if you’ve already purchased a $10 Text pack, or you get one before the end of August then everytime your pack renews you’ll get an extra 500 text for free, making your $10 Text pack 1000 texts. Cheers

I love to text and want to stay on 2 degrees forever, though are we gonna have an expansion to the 10 dollar text bundle of 1000 texts to any network anytime soon?
I could easily send over 1500 a month on text messages and have had to cut back alot so is there a possible future for 2000 texts to any network for $10 a month??
