‘Hold off signing up to long term mobile phone contracts” says new mobile network 2degrees

Research quantifies impact of current mobile network duopoly

AUCKLAND, 17 June 2009

Research commissioned by New Zealand’s soon-to-launch third mobile phone network, 2degrees, has shed more light on the cosy duopoly which has existing in the local mobile network market until now.

2degrees commissioned Phoenix Research to survey ‘on-net’ mobile traffic (calls that begin and terminate on the same network) amongst students in Auckland and Dunedin. The full results of the survey can be downloaded from: http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/research
