Trade Up

image gallery copyLet’s face it, no one likes waiting to pay off their interest free phone before they can upgrade to a new one. Now you don’t have to when you add Trade Up to your interest free option. For just $10 extra per month, you can now only wait 12 months on a 24 month interest free option, or 18 months on a 36 month interest free option on our $55 Carryover Plan and above, or on a Pool Plan (or eligible Business Plans).

How it works

Step 1
Pick one of the following handsets and get it interest free over 24 or 36 months:

  • iPhone Xs
  • iPhone Xs Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • Samsung Galaxy Note9
  • Samsung Galaxy S9
  • Samsung Galaxy S9+

Step 2

Opt in at point of purchase for Trade Up for just $10 per month on eligible plans. After 12 consecutive bill payments on a 24 month interest free option, or 18 consecutive bill payments on a 36 month interest free option, you'll be eligible to Trade Up to the latest smartphone.

For Pay Monthly, Trade Up is available on a $55 Carryover Plan or above.

For Business, Trade Up is available on select devices and all current plans.

Step 3
When you want to Trade Up, bring in your existing phone (that's in good working order and has no screen cracks), and then choose the latest smartphone that's eligible for Trade Up to take home on a new interest free option over 12, 24 or 36 months. If you want to stay in the Trade Up program you will need to choose either a 24 or 36 months interest free option.

How to Trade Up your phone

If you’ve added Trade Up, you can get the latest smartphone every year for just $10 extra per month, for 12 months on a 24 month interest free option, or 18 months on a 36 month interest free option on our $55 Plan and above (or eligible Business Plans).

How to Trade Up

We'll let you know once 12 or 18 months are up and you're eligible to Trade Up your current phone to get a new smartphone interest free on a new interest free option. Once you hear from us, either via email or SMS, here's 3 easy steps on what to do next.

1. Check your phone

Your current phone should be in good working condition like when you first bought it.

‘Good working order’ means that your existing phone:

  • powers on and off;
  • has no physical damage except normal wear and tear (e.g., there are no cracks on the screen or casing, the phone has no liquid damage, there is no damage to any USB or power connector and the SIM reader is not faulty);
  • works normally and is fit for purpose (e.g. can make and receive calls and connect to the internet);
  • is accompanied by the phone battery;
  • has all locking features disabled (for example phone passwords or iCloud locking codes);
  • is not blocked or blacklisted by any New Zealand mobile network.

2. Back it up

Don't worry about losing all your phone contacts and photos. Backing up your phone will keep all that good stuff. Read these docs to see how to back up an iPhone, Samsung or Huawei. Need help? Ask in store.

3. Head in store

Come into your nearest 2degrees store, or if you don't live close to a 2degrees store, there's a list of stores below where you can also come into Trade Up. We'll help you choose your new phone and set you up with your interest free mobile repayment option.

And now for the exciting bit, you can then pick one of the following handsets and get it interest free over 12, 24 or 36 months:

  • iPhone Xs
  • iPhone Xs Max
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy Note9
  • Samsung Galaxy S9
  • Samsung Galaxy S9+
  • Samsung Galaxy S8

Where to Trade Up

The best place to Trade Up your phone is at your nearest 2degrees store.

If there isn’t a 2degrees store in your area, you can also pop into any Harvey Norman or PB Tech store, or at one of the following Noel Leeming stores: Wairau Park, Albany, New Lynn, Sylvia Park, Manukau Supa, Manukau Mall, Te Rapa, Lower Hutt, Hastings, Riccarton or Moorhouse.
